Biography
Meet Our Senior Pastor
Pastor Guerschom “Gersh” Francois was born into ministry in December 1977, the son of Pastor Marie J Francois and the late Rev. Dr. Jean P. Francois, who began his pastoral work in 1975. From the very beginning, Pastor Gersh’s life has been a testimony of God’s protection. At just one year old, while sitting in his mother’s lap during a small church service, armed men stormed the sanctuary. One held a gun to his head as they robbed the congregation. What could have been the end of a ministry became a testimony of resilience, as Rev. Francois continued faithfully preaching the gospel.
As the church grew, so did young Gersh’s gifts. By age three, he was playing the drums during worship, later teaching himself bass at six and keyboard at nine. Music quickly became his passion and his ministry. At 13, his father gave him the opportunity to preach his first sermon, where his gift for teaching God’s Word became evident. Though he didn’t initially desire to pastor, he faithfully served as a youth pastor beginning in 2003.
Everything changed on January 16, 2015, when Rev. Dr. Jean P. Francois went home to be with the Lord. In the midst of grief, Pastor Gersh was called to lead. Working with the pastoral team, he helped guide the church through transition until, in September 2015, the pastoral staff unanimously voted him as Senior Pastor. On October 18, 2015, Pastor Guerschom Francois was officially ordained as Senior Pastor.
Known for his humble spirit, generosity, and genuine love for people, Pastor Gersh is deeply committed to helping others succeed. He empowers and encourages everyone around him, always willing to lend a hand, share wisdom, or bring a smile with his lighthearted humor. Though he often calls himself an introvert, his heart for people shines through in every interaction.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Pastor Gersh’s calling became even clearer. He embraced the truth that ministry is not just about the pulpit on Sundays, but about faithfully serving in the community—when no one is watching, when no one is paying, and when no one is applauding.
For Pastor Gersh, to serve is a privilege.
